Nuvelab

Nuvelab is an open-access testbed operated by Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk), delivering advanced R&D services for companies developing zero-emission, electrified, and autonomous work machinery. The platform enables faster development cycles, reduced prototyping costs, and risk mitigation through controlled, high-fidelity testing and validation environments.

Nuvelab combines a high-power chassis dynamometer with Vehicle-in-the-Loop (VIL) simulation to replicate real-world operating conditions in a laboratory setting. This allows companies to validate performance, optimize energy efficiency, and verify system behavior before field deployment.

As part of the Nordic Testbed Network, Nuvelab supports cross-border collaboration and multi-site experimentation, enabling organizations to co-develop and validate solutions within a federated testbed ecosystem.
